Peru; Air Force plans to modernize its Su-25, Mi-25 fleets

The first project is aimed at a modification of the navigation and communication system and implementation of the Air Traffic Control (ATC) system in the Su-25 aircraft This project aims to replace the navigation and communications equipment of Russian origin with other, more modern and precise, of German and North American origin. Regarding ATC, the aim is to replace the veteran CO-69 transponder with the GTX-330 that can operate with the network of secondary radars in mode A, C and S of the civil aeronautical authority Corpac. Peruvian technicians have managed to avoid adverse effects on the ergonomics of the cabin and the aerodynamics of the aircraft.

For its part, the project Modernization of navigation and communication systems of Mi-25 helicopters to replace analog equipment with multifunctional screens, more precision equipment that facilitates night flights and in adverse weather. The new equipment has North American origin and its installation has not affected the attack helicopter’s center of gravity and the UA pilots have given their approval after test flights.
